This was the inaugral game at this stadium, now called the Merkur Arena (rebuilt in 1997) and home of Sturm Graz. A large contingent of British troops were present. The Graz team was drawn from 4 Graz clubs as follows: Amreich, Kandler, Landauf, Pestitschek, Kolli (Grazer AK), Lobenhofer, Gapp, Schuh, Durek (Sturm Graz), Grohs (Grazer SC), Muhlbauer (ESV Austria Graz).
