Alex Hall's opening goal was scored with a volley from near the halfway line which dropped into the net just under the bar. Bobby Gurney's first goal was even more outrageous; he received a throw-in near the halfway line, and with his back to the goal hooked the ball over his head with enough force and height that it again dropped in just under the bar. The Leeds 'keeper was clearly somewhat lacking in judgement!
