Corry Evans was originally in the starting line-up but had to withdraw after the warm-up, Lynden Gooch coming in. Consequently, Sunderland named only 6 substitutes. Sunderland's first goal was effectively direct from an Alex Pritchard corner, hitting the inside of the far post before flicking off Mitov on the way in; it may have gone in anyway without the keeper's "help". Officially it is credited as a Mitov own goal, but we have credited Pritchard on the basis that the corner deceived the keeper and defenders and despite their efforts they failed to stop it going in.
