Wes Brown was sent off for "fouling" Falcao in the event that lead to the penalty for the opening goal, but John O'Shea was actually the culprit. Brown's consequent ban was subsequently rescinded on the basis of video evidence, but FA rules meant O'Shea could not be punished in retrospect. So no Sunderland player served the usual automatic ban for the offence!
