This was actually a county trial match, the colts team being selected from teams from the Northern Division of the Durham FA. Players' clubs as follows: Green, Curry and Cawthorne (Hobson Wanderers), Marshall, Atkinson and Stabler (Bede's), Stenton and Wilson (Whitburn), Standley and White (Birtley), Howie (Hamsterley Rangers).
