The winners received miniature silver cups with a Durham FA badge mounted in gold. The Rest of Durham team was drawn from players from Gateshead (Clarke, W.O'Donnell and Ranson), Darlington (Halliday, Hopkinson, Eden and Brown) and Hartlepools United (J.O'Donnell, Hill, Hardy and Pedwell). Billy Eden was making his first return to Roker Park since leaving Sunderland.
